A Book Meme
Tagged again. This time by fellow Austin blogger, Konagod.
Here are the rules:
1. Grab the nearest book (that is at least 123 pages long).
2. Open to p. 123.
3. Go down to the 5th sentence.
4. Type in the following 3 sentences.
5. Tag five people.
No, it's impossible, really, to form a mental image of Tanuki in such a setting. It's just too incongruous to compute. Upon a will-o'-the-wisp, one's mind can set a snowflake derby, even a crown of thorns; but a top hat or beret is quite another matter.
Try to guess. I'll post the answer tomorrow. I tag Ginnie, Laurie, Stewart, Marion and Tracey as well as anyone else who wants to play along.

Walker Texas Ranger vs. Gov. Good Hair
Wolfe Blitzer's intervivew with Mike Huckabee last night went something like this:
Blitzer: The governor of Texas has endorsed Sen. McCain. How do you think you will do there?
Huckabee: Well, Chuck Norris is a Texan.
Blitzer (in a very serious voice): So am I hearing you say that Chuck Norris can take the governor of Texas?
I was laughing way too hard to hear Huckabee's response but he had a very serious look on his face as he gave it.
I wonder if anyone has told him that Norris endorsed Perry when he ran for reelection in 2006.
If Norris karate chopped Perry on his hair, do you think it would break Norris' hand?
I'm really missing Molly right now.

How to Help
In all the hoopla over last Tuesday's primaries, it seems that little attention has been given to the fact that there were tornados in the midsection of our country and that people died and that people lost many, in some cases all, of their earthly possessions.
I found this link http://shakespearessister.blogspot.com/2008/02/call-to-action-help-tn-tornado-victims.html on Harp & Sword. It lists several ways to help. Take a look and do whatever feels right to you.
Addendum: I'm sure it would be a big help to add a post with this information to your blog. The more people who see it the better.

Three Reasons I'm Glad I'm Not a Republican
Number 1: The walking, talking middle aged Ken doll. I'm not even sure that Barbie wants to vote for him, especially since he seems to be spending her wardrobe money on his campaign.
Number 2: The bass player. Everyone knows that bass players can't count higher than 4 and since it is main job of the base player is to keep the drummer from counting any higher than 4, he always seems to be listening to what is going on behind him instead of paying attention to what is happening in front of him. This particular bass player has his own take on what is behind him and it is more than a little scary.
Number 3: Little old man who wants to keep our current war going, possibly because the war in which he was invloved had such a dismal outcome that he doesn't want to see this one end without a decisive victory. Since that does not seem possible, he'll just keep it going and going and going and.....
There are a many, many more reasons that I am not as Republican but I really don't want this to become a political blog so I'll stop now.

B A D Day for Bloggers
According to Konagod, tomorrow is Bloggroll Amnesty Day. This was apparently started by Jon Swift who dreamed it up as a way to share blog traffic with each other by highlighting blogs that don't get as much traffic as yours and adding them to your bloggroll. After careful consideration, I have decided that, even though she has been on my bloggroll quite a while, I'd like to encourage folks to stop by and check out Goldendaze Ginnie. She is a senior citizen who writes both comtempary posts as well as posts which tell us a lot about the midcentury time period. I'd also like to highlight Don't Make Me Get My Flying Monkees. Check these blogs out. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
