The live oak trees in my back yard have grown into a tangle of branches that have created a canopy over the center of the yard. I expect to see Titania asleep under it but she has eluded me and my camera so far. The light that gets through the leaves in the mornings makes delightful patterns.
I call this tree Daphne. Can you see her face?

If Daphne is on the middle upreaching branch, she resembles a mask I once had from Ivory Coast.
Lovely pictures, lovely Sister.
It's a lovely photo but I don't seem to see Daphne. I see what looks like a mask too.
The face, or mask as you call it, is the reason I call the tree Daphne. Daphne was the daughter of the Artimis and Peneus who was persued by Apollo. She begged her father for help and he allowed her to turn into a tree so that she could remain in the forest that she loved.
Oh cool. I found the face. Actually I found a couple that I thought might be a face but that one was the most likely choice!
Those trees are beautiful! We have similar ones here, all old and shady and fastastical in shape....I call them Florida trees....not very accurately I see!
