My Back Yard

This was growing in some live oak leaves in my back yard.

The top is about 2 inches in diameter.
If anybody knows the name for it, I'd love to have it.

I cleared some of the leaves away to get a shot with more contrast and the flash went off which is why the color looks different in the top photo.

Here is a shot of the fushia hanging from the eaves of the covered patio

and the tomato plant I just got this morning from the farmer's market. I don't know where I'll put it since we have no sun in the back yard. I may give it to a friend as a birthday gift.

Well, I'm a friend, but my birthday just passed. Just kidding. We are going to have tons of tomatoes this year (easy to say, wait and see) and I'll gladly share some.

As for those mushrooms, I haven't a clue. One of my blog pals in Australia did a post of mushrooms growing in their yard with a humorous comment about eating one.

There used to be a restaurant on the 30th floor of a building in Little Rock with a chef from Switzerland. He would go out in the woods and harvest local mushrooms to use in his dishes. That would be quite a skill. I'm still envious of him.

No ideas on the mushroom---but that is one gorgeous fuschia! Not bad looking tomato plant either.....Love those chacos.

You're way ahead of me, Seventh...I'm still hesitant to put anything outside yet! The shots are lovely.

I love photos of mushrooms. But I don't know the name of this one.

I did give the tomato plant to a friend for his birthday. I bought it then could not find a place in our yard with enough sun for it.

I'm suprised that no one have made remarks about what that mushroon resembled. Maybe I just have a dirty mind.

Marion, I would be hesitant to plant anything if I were as far north as you are. Of course, here on the 30th parallel, things will burn up by mid June if we have our typical summer heat.

Thanks for the good advice about filling my gas tank!!
I've tried time and again to grow something in a container like your tomatoes and never succeeded. But it make a great gift.

I don't know what it is called but it sure looks like it could be used as a fairy gathering spot at night.

Beautiful photos! I hope you've found the name of whatever that very cool thing is. (I'm sure I'd go with mushroom, too, but then I'd be wrong!) The tomatoes look delicious.
