Bloggers for Peace

I'd much rather be for something than against something. Being against anything just takes too much energy that could just as easily be used to further a good cause or attract something that I really want in my life. I will go to peace rallies but not to antiwar protests. Sometimes, it is hard to tell the difference between the two. I will leave if peace making becomes war protesting.

I followed a link on Taexalia's blog to this site:http://bluepyramid.org/peace/. I like the idea of blogging for peace. I also like the idea of a million of almost anything.
If I could add a soundtrack to this post it would be David LaMotte's Peter(What I Said). Follow the link. It is near the bottom of the page.

Maybe we could have a Million Blog March on Washington.

I was going to ask -- how DO you tell the difference between a peace rally and an anti-war one?

Rallying against a specific war makes the huge assumption that if not for Vietnam/Iraq/Darfur/Whatever, there would be peace. Sadly, it's not that simple.

A blog march, what an idea!

Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference between a peace rally and an anti-war protest. When the rhetoric takes a hard edge and the speakers become critical of a stiuation rather than offering peaceful solutions, it becomes 'anti' rather than 'for' in my view. We could end all war today but that would not necessarily give the world peace. There are many ways to be unpeaceful without actually making physical war.

Yes. How true.

Could it be that for the most part, we are just not a peaceful species?

Gee, you think?

Signed up. Thanks for the referral. :)

I see what you mean about being for something rather than against. Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference in any public movement though.

Love this! So glad you found me so that I could find you. Funny how life works that way. I'm so with you on the "being for something" as opposed to "being against something" idea. I look forward to reading more. Best wishes, Angela
